Hey Alaskans! Brent here with some updates from a busy and productive day:

📋 **Local Funding**: As a non-partisan candidate, I rely on local support rather than national or corporate sponsorship. We’ve set up electronic payments via Anedot, and it’s working! Tested it with the help of my son and nephew, and received a generous donation. Thank you for believing in our mission!

🌸 **Community Visits**: Spent time at a family member’s house in Kasilof, hanging beautiful lobelias and checking an area for a small business task next week. Community connections keep us strong!

🏡 **Campaign Conversations**: Visited a neighbor building a house, discussing my campaign and the vision for our future. Every conversation counts!

🌞 **Nature's Signs**: My wife and I are enjoying six cranes in our yard instead of the usual two this year.  Like most Alaskans, we love being visited by our wild neighbors and are frequently visited by moose, ducks, loons, and more!

Remembering D-Day

6/6/1944 D-Day Invasion map below. The water body is Bay of Seine as the Seine River empties in on the east side. The Bay of Seine is about centered in the English Channel, directly south of London. The English Channel is wider here, because of the Bay, maybe 100 miles wide. Once ashore in the middle of the Bay, it was about 150 miles from Paris. Some 46% of the 160,000 Allied troops who landed were from the US. Around 56% of the 4,414 troops killed in the first day were American. Additionally, 5,000 troops were wounded. The land was defended by about 50,000 Germans in many heavily fortified positions. Allied airplanes assisting in the invasion numbered 11,590, including 867 gliders. 13,348 American paratroopers were among about 18,000 paratroopers who landed first, just after midnight.
